Local Information
Totnes is an ancient market town and river port in the South Hams area of South Devon. It covers a long hill sloping gently to the Dart estuary surrounded by rich and beautiful countryside.

Busy, narrow streets are dominated by the castle and church tower. The town is full of architectural and historical interest.

Totnes welcomes the visitor and is ideal for providing a central location from which to explore the charm of the Devon countryside and the spectacular coastline.

Payment Methods

The Old Forge at Totnes provides year-round accommodation in a friendly, welcoming 600-year old stone building with cosy, cottage-style rooms set in a relaxing, almost rural environment close to the centre of the South Hams market town of Totnes - an ideal location for those with business in the South-West, holiday visitors to this delightful part of the country, or simply those taking a peaceful, short break.

We hold the prestigious English Tourist Council Silver Award in addition to our 4-diamond rating with both the ETC and the AA, so you can be assured of high quality service and comfortable accommodation.

Our rooms are all en-suite with some having private bathrooms. All rooms have central heating, telephones, colour TV, radio alarms, hairdryers and many other extras. Beverage trays are provided and fresh milk is available on request.

Our accommodation includes ground floor and family rooms, we have a cottage suite for 2-6 which is also suitable for semi-disabled visitors, and a luxury family room.

The cobbled driveway leads to on-site parking and the coach arch opens into a delightful walled garden.

Our new, conservatory-style leisure lounge includes a whirlpool spa and opens on to the, south-facing patio and garden.

Breakfast in the airy, Tudor-style dining room provides a varied menu and includes traditional, unusual, vegetarian and continental fare as well as providing for those with special dietary needs.

Our little corner of rural paradise is just a few minutes walk from the shopping centre of the historic market town of Totnes. Located on the beautiful River Dart, many of the other visitor attractions of the South Devon countryside, the Dart Valley, the English Riviera and the Moors are all within easy reach.
